• In Ayurveda it is traditionally used to balance high kapha (water) disorders.
• It is made from herbs like Pippali, which is used extensively as a spice and for medicinal purposes. Piper longum (Pipalli) is an immuno modulating herb. Anti-allergic activity of the fruit has been studied and is attributed to piperine.
